North Texas Region Volleyball: Promoting Volleyball in the North Texas Area

Welcome to the North Texas Region website!

Thank you for visiting the website for the North Texas Region, a regional volleyball association of USA Volleyball. We are currently doing some work on the website to try and make it easier to navigate. For now, our home page has been updated. You'll find all the relevant links on the left, separated by region information, some quick links for those pages viewed often, and additions to the region website. You'll notice a Twitter box on the right. We'll be using this to add updates to things going on in the region. If you're on Twitter, don't forget to follow us! We'll be continuing to update the website over the summer. If there's anything you need to find quickly and aren't able to, just send an email to our staff and we'll assist you as quickly as possible.

July 13, 2009: Region Annual Board of Directors Meeting

The North Texas Region Board will hold its annual meeting on July 13, 2009. Please refer to the Region Board Page, as well as the Region By-laws for terms and requirements. Please note resumes must be submitted by Monday, July 6, 2009 at 5:00pm. They can be delivered in person, by mail, via fax or emailed to elections@ntrvolleyball.us.

Adult Opens Recap

Congratulations to the North Texas teams that went to Minneapolis to compete at Adult Opens. We had three Mens A teams, one Womens AA team, one Womens BB team and three Coed teams participate. Champagne Volleyball (Women-AA) came home with a 3rd place finish. Zoom (Men-A) finished 13th out a large field. We had two 3rd place finishes in Coed - 900 in Regular Coed and TABC in Reverse Coed. Kevin Anderson, one of our region board members, played on a Mens AA team from Arizona and that team finished 2nd. Congratulations!!

Officials News

Chris Tobey, a national referee from our region, went to Minneapolis as a candidate for his national scorekeeping rating. He passed with flying colors and is our newest National Scorekeeper. Congratulations!

Meritorious Service Award Winners

Each year, regions are asked to award the Robert L. Lindsay Meritorious Service Award to members who have provided a significant contribution to volleyball. Our recipients this year are: Earl Downey, Michele Furlong, Jon Rye, and John Sample. Thank you all for everything you do for the sport and our region.

Bid Regionals Recap

The North Texas Region wishes to thank all those who helped make the event run smootly. We realize nerves were on edge a bit due to the H1N1 outbreak. We appreciate everyone's patience as we made decisions regarding the event and throughout the weekend with the extra precautions.
