Below are some guidelines for starting a new club in the North Texas Region

Recommended:
  • Incorporate 6 months prior to the next season.


Required:
  • Register your Club: Contact the region office for information on how this is done
  • Background checks must be performed on all Directors and Coaches prior to Tryouts 
  • Paperwork must be submitted to the Region Office by November 1
  • Attend a New Club Directors Orientation before December
    • These meetings are typically held after a Directors meeting.
    • Check the Region page of the website in the fall for dates of the meeting 
  • Submit request to sanction your practices and tryouts before Tryouts and Practices
    • Contact the Region Office to find out how this is done
  • Attend 1 of 2 Jr Regional Meetings in the Fall or previous Spring
    • The first meeting is typically held in September.
    • Meeting dates/times/locations will be posted on the web
    • Contact the Region Office if you need additional info
  • Scorekeepers/Officiating: Get 2 or more players certified in scorekeeping and get your coaches certified in officiating.

 

NOTE:
When selecting a name for your club, please refrain from using the word "Texas" or "Dallas" in your name.

A near saturation point has been reached with "Texas" and " Dallas" included in club names. It can often cause confusion at the national office as well as tracking results at tournaments. So, when choosing a name for your new club, please refrain from using the word Texas or Dallas in the club name. Also check with the list of existing clubs to make sure that you are not choosing a name that is already being used.
