IMPACT certification is the first step in being certified to coach in the North Texas Region. IMPACT stands for Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory. It is a four hour course USA Volleyball curriculum with qualified instructors leading the clinics. In the North Texas Region, IMPACT certification is a lifetime membership. We require all coaches (including assistant coaches) to be IMPACT certified.
Starting in 2007-2008, ALL coaches will be required to be IMPACT certified in order to participate at Junior Nationals. There will NOT be any IMPACT clinics offered at JOs, so all coaches should plan ahead and prepare for certification well in advance.
We encourage coaches to further their training, but it is not required. To become certified, you will need to do the following:
1) Look at the clinic schedule below
2) Follow the procedure outlined and you will be signed up for attendance
3) Pay $50 in advance of the clinic (Note: We must receive payment, either via check/money order/cashier's clinic or Paypal, prior to the clinic. If you choose to pay onsite, the fee will increase to $60)
4) Arrive at the clinic 20-30 prior to start time to sign in and receive manual
5) You MUST stay the entire four hours.
6) Upon completion of the clinic, you will be given your certificate. DO NOT LOSE THIS, as you will likely need it in the future to show proof of certification.
If you are already certified (or you are a director checking a coach's certification), please click on the Certified Coaches list below, which shows all individuals certified in our region. There are also files showing those certified in other regions (where we have received proof from that individual), or those certified at National events. If you were certified and you do not see your name, please provide a copy of your certificate to our office (and if certified within NTR, provide date of clinic you attended). If you cannot provide proof, you will need to attend the clinic again. If you were certified at a national event, please contact USAV directy to verify, as it takes some time for them to get us that information. If you need a duplicate of your certificate from NTR, please send your name and address, along with a $5 payment, to the NTR office.

USA Volleyball has started a new program this year, an IMPACT webinar. This allows coaches to use their computer and phone line to "attend" a clinic. The course typically runs in two sections, over a five hour period. At the end, attendees will take a test over the material. Following the webinar, USA Volleyball provides regions a list of those who have attended and passed. We then update our data to reflect that information. USAV is running two clinics this month to start off this program. Click below to get to the webinar page. Payment is $50 through USAV and you need to register through them.
